Ocean Dental is a modern friendly practice with an emphasis on quality not quantity. Building a rapport with our patients is very important to us, and being a small caring team enables us to give you an exceptional personal service. We believe that continuity of care is very important in healthcare - at Ocean Dental you will always see the same Dentist and Hygienist. The practice has been established for over 20 years and is built solely on word of mouth, with the majority of our patients coming from personal recommendation through existing patients. We genuinely enjoy helping and looking after people!
We take great pride in everything we do, giving attention to the smallest details. Before opening, the building was renovated to a very high standard to provide an atmosphere that is comfortable, spacious and light - to make your experience pleasant and relaxed. |

Dr Don Weerasirie BDS (Guy's) MFDS RCPSDental Surgeon

Don qualified from Guy’s Hospital London in 1997 and moved straight to Cornwall joining a practice in Wadebridge. He then joined the Oral and Facial Surgery Department, Treliske Hospital and in 1999 he passed further examinations to become a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons gaining his MFDS RCPS(Glasg.)
In 2003 he opened Ocean Dental, quickly gaining a high reputation for his surgical skills and attention to detail. The practice is now built on word of mouth and recommendation alone with patients often commenting how his caring and relaxed style immediately puts them at ease. Don also treats patients referred from local dentists for complex treatments such as implant and cosmetic dentistry. He regularly attends postgraduate courses, keeping up to date with the latest advances in modern dentistry.
Don’s areas of special interest include all aspects of surgical, cosmetic and implant dentistry. He enjoys treating difficult and challenging cases and has a natural artistic eye for transforming smiles.

Tom Mears BSc (Hons)Dental Therapist

Tom joined the practice in 2006 and was an instant success with our patients. He works closely with Don on complex cases and is qualified to provide a wide range of treatments including routine hygiene, filling and rebuilding teeth.
Tom works to a very high clinical standard and has developed an excellent reputation with his patients through his relaxed, gentle and caring approach.

Rachel Swanson CEBDental Hygienist

Rachel joined the practice in 2008 and has a natural ability to relax nervous patients, helping them overcome any fears. She is also very good at involving children from an early age, encouraging prevention, helping them prevent future problems.
Rachel provides all aspects of hygiene treatments, keeping up to date with the latest methods of treating difficult cases.

Linda Speed
Practice Manager / Receptionist

Linda joined the practice in 2009 and provides a genuinely warm, friendly welcome to all patients. She has a natural ability to connect with people, helping to reassure them and making them feel at ease. Patients often comment how they enjoy coming to the practice, some even pop in for a chat when they don’t have an appointment! Linda is a great asset to our team having over 20 years of reception, managerial and front of house experience.

Roz is our Senior Dental Nurse, taking pride to maintain our surgeries to the highest standards of cleanliness. She is friendly and caring, taking care to look after you throughout your treatment. Roz has gained extensive experience working with Don since 2014.
